    Cost-effective Printing of 3D Objects with Skin-Frame Structures

    An optimization framework of generating a skin-frame structure from a given model is proposed for the purpose of cost-effective 3D fabrication.

    Sphere-Meshes: Shape Approximation using Spherical Quadric Error Metrics

    We propose sphere-meshes, a new shape approximation model based on the linear interpolation of spheres on a mesh sub-structure, together with a new bottom-up approximation algorithm tailored by a the Spherical Quadric Error Metric (SQEM), with application to multi-resolution freeform shape modeling.

    Sparse Localized Deformation Components

    We propose a method that extracts sparse and spatially localized deformation modes from an animated mesh sequence. This enables editing of captured mesh animations, such as faces, full body motion, cloth animations, and muscle deformations. We present its benefit further for statistical geometry processing and biomechanically meaningful animation editing.
