    Industrial Light & Magic (Singapore) Presents: The Visual Effects of "Star Trek Into Darkness"

    ILM Singapore worked across 13 sequences through-out the movie and ran the gamut from Full-CG Space sequences, to recreating the entire San Francisco city digitally. The team from ILM will discuss the visual effects challenges overcome for the intergalactic manhunt portrayed in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek Into Darkness”.

    Alex Prichard joined Industrial Light & Magic in 2011, as Lead Digital Artist. A native of California, he started out working at The Orphanage as a CG generalist creating work for both feature films and commercials. While at The Orphanage he started focusing on compositing and eventually moved on to work at ImageMovers Digital where he was a Lead Lighter / Compositor before joining the studio.

    Alex was a Compositing Supervisor for Star Trek Into Darkness and in this capacity he oversaw a team of compositors combining live action and CG elements into visual effects shots as directed by the VFX supervisor and client for over 150 shots done by the studio in Singapore.

    Under ILM Singapore, his film credits include G.I. Joe Retaliation, Marvel’s The Avengers, Battleship, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Transformers: Dark of Moon.

    Alex holds a BFA from Academy of Art University

    Adrien Saint Girons

    Adrien Saint Girons joined Industrial Light & Magic in 2011 as a Lighting TD working on Transformers: Dark of Moon. He was promoted in 2012 and in his present role; he supervises the Lighting and Look Development teams, offering day to day direction, while working towards the Visual Effects Supervisor’s vision.

    On Star Trek into Darkness, Adrien was responsible for delivering the lighting teams Singapore shots. Adrien developed new workflows for the final fight sequence and kept in constant communication with ILM in San Francisco.

    Adrien was previously at Moving Picture Company (MPC) and The Mill where some of his credits include: Clash of the Titans, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

    Adrien graduated from Bournemouth University with a BA in Computer Visualization and Animation. He is currently supervising the lighting and lookdev for the fourth installment of Transformers.
